BUILD BUFFALO: A Unique Networking Event for Subcontractors and Prime Contractors

Buffalo, NY – January 21, 2025 – Build Buffalo is set to take place at Resurgence Brewing, offering subcontractors an invaluable opportunity to connect with prime companies actively seeking partnerships on local projects. This event will be held in two sessions on Tuesday, January 21 from 9 AM to 11 AM for Certified MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises) and SDVOB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses) subcontractors only, followed by a general session from 11 AM to 1 PM for all subcontractors.

This year’s event highlights the Buffalo Central Terminal restoration project and many others, showcasing MWBE business opportunities for contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Attendees are encouraged to engage, network, and learn about potential collaborations. To prepare for the event, subcontractors can access free capability statement classes taught by the prime companies expected to attend. These recorded classes provide essential insights into crafting effective capabilities statements, which are strongly recommended for sharing with prime contractors during the event. Attendees can still take advantage of the capability statement class recordings, available on the Build Buffalo registration site. Participants can submit their statements for enhancement, with printed copies provided for distribution during the event. In addition to the networking opportunities, the event will feature door prizes for those who register online.

“Build Buffalo is not just an event; it’s a platform for real collaboration,” said AmyRae from The Construction Exchange “We are committed to removing barriers for subcontractors through free classes and networking opportunities, ensuring everyone leaves with valuable connections and resources.”

The Build Buffalo event is hosted by The Construction Exchange, East Buffalo Development, and the Small Business Development Center, with sponsorship from Mark Cerrone – celebrating 25 years as a leader in safety and quality in Western New York’s construction industry. Support also comes from Arc Building Partners, Buffalo Construction Consultants, Frey Electric, and Lawley Insurance.

Companies interested in soliciting bids from subcontractors can register for $250 per company by contacting AmyRae at [email protected]. Non-profits supporting the construction industry are also encouraged to register. Due to limited space, suppliers interested in tabling at the event should reach out to AmyRae immediately.
